AUTHORS

CONSULTATION

You know self-publishing ebooks like the back of your hand, and audiobooks are the perfect opportunity to extend your creative work to a new audience and make money doing it. But sometimes, branching out into a new format can be overwhelming. Let's discuss questions like:

  • Should I turn my book into an audiobook?

  • Should I self-publish, or sell my rights to a publisher?

  • What does this whole process look like, from page to headphones?

  • How do I get an audiobook made, and how much will it cost me?

  • Should I read my own book?

  • Single, dual, duet, or multi-cast narration?

  • What are my options for distributing my book to consumers?

  • What do I do with charts, maps, footnotes, illustrations, etc.?

  • How do I market an audiobook?

$115 USD/$150 CAD for a one-hour phone call.

Residents of Toronto/GTA can request a one-hour in-person meeting for $200 CAD.

PUBLISHERS

Audiobooks are the most rapidly growing format in publishing, but giving up the guaranteed income from audio rights advances and committing to spending thousands of dollars on productions is a big decision. I can help answer questions like:

  • How do we get started, and how much is it going to cost us?

  • How do we choose which titles to tackle first?

  • Should we prioritize front list or back list?

  • How important is a simultaneous release?

  • What are our options for distribution?

  • How much staff time is it going to require?

  • Will audiobooks negatively affect our print sales?

  • Should we produce our titles on CD?

$115 USD/$150 CAD+GST for a one-hour phone call.

I work in a hands-on capacity to help publishers develop streamlined audiobook programs that are efficient and effective to run long-term. Contact me with your goals and where you need help, and I'll get back to you with some suggestions on how we could best work together.
